What it's about:  On October 28th, 2018 I'll be running the Marine Corps Marathon in support of the RiteCare, Childhood Language Disorders Program. This incredible program has been helping children receive treatment and communicate effectively since 1953. It provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment of speech and language disorders, and learning disabilities at 178 clinics, centers, and special programs throughout the United States. 

My Why: For the past three years, my husband Tim, and his committee, have hosted the annual Alexandria Scottish Rite Friends and Family Dinner. This premier event raises much needed funds for RiteCare to  help children with Autism and Language Disorders. In the time that I have worked with him in support of this dinner, I have been moved by the stories of  adults and children who have benefitted from the treatments received. They have overcome considerable difficulties to execute the most basic of daily human communications and interactions, to be successful at school, work and in society.  This is my way to recognize and honor their efforts. 

My Ask: While I will run 26.2 miles on Sunday October 28, 2018, I will have run over 200 miles in preparing for the race.  RiteCare would appreciate your support of my miles. Some suggestions are:

·       An amount of your choosing

·       $1 for every mile completed (Marathon only/ Marathon and Training)-starting at $26

·       $10 for every mile (Marathon only/ Marathon and Training) -starting at $260
