Baby Eliana Mason was due on May 23, but somewhere between January and March, she stopped growing inside her mother Naomi.  Naomi has been admited to a hospital three hours from home until Baby Eliana is born. The doctors are hoping Eliana can survive inside her mother until April 9th. At this point, Eliana will be six weeks premature and probably only about 2.5 lbs. If Eliana survives the delivery, she will then spend a month or more in the NICU in Duluth, MN. 

For the next few weeks, the doctors are monitoring Baby Eliana's vitals closely and are prepared to deliver her early if she appears to start dying inside her mother. 

The doctors won't know what's causing Eliana's trouble and whether she can make a full recovery until after she's born. At this point, a full recovery is still possible, but permanent damage and death are realistic as well.

The funds raised for Baby Eliana will go toward helping her family with travel expenses as they face two months or more of driving to and from the hospital. The monies raised will also go toward future medical needs and equipment for Eliana that insurance doesn't cover. And in the event Eliana dies, they will go toward funeral expenses.
