On Saturday, September 13th, Lauren was involved in a near-fatal collision while traveling for work. She was airlifted from Williamsburg, VA to the nearest trauma facility in Roanoke. She sustained multiple serious injuries, including a ruptured bladder, broken ribs, neck fractures, and a severely fractured ankle which required reconstruction. After over a week in the hospital, Lauren will now be transferred to inpatient rehabilitation where she will spend several weeks in order to regain her mobility and strength.

Lauren’s path to healing will take time and it is unclear when she will be able to return to her work and life in Wilmington, NC. On top of the physical injuries she is recovering from, there is also the stress of medical bills and being out of work for an extended period.
