UPDATE

On September 15, 2023 Kelly found out that she has two cancerous tumors called gastrinomas, one of which is in the lymph nodes. September 18th 2023 she had a endoscopy and found out she has a third tumor on top of her pancreas. Kelly’s emergency surgery back in January 2023, 2nd major surgery in July 2023, and symptoms for the last 4 years are now known to be caused by these cancerous tumors. Kelly will undergo her third surgery this year in mid October to remove these tumors and hopefully all places the cancer has spread. This is no easy feat, as it will be performed by 2 major surgeons along with the surgical team. Kelly has been unable to work regularly this year due to the severity of her symptoms, having multiple major surgeries, and being in and out of the hospital. Original:Hi, my name is Hope Turner and I'm fundraising for Kelly Morton. She has been suffering from gastrointestinal issues for the past 3 years, in and out of the ER's without any resolution to her condition. On the last ER visit, the doctors put Kelly under to use a scope to try and figure out what was wrong. The surgical team quickly discovered Kelly had a perforated bowel. A perforated bowel is imminently life-threatening and they rushed her into emergency surgery. They had to cut her open from below her chest to her hips, removed parts of her bowel and rerouted her intestines. She woke up in the ICU, just now learning of her new situation and what this could mean for the future.

While the future holds many unknowns, what we do know is Kelly will need help for the next few months as she is medically unable to work. She plans to move back to Texas with her family until she is healed and medically cleared to work again. If you know Kelly, she's a fighter and will be working as soon as she's able.
