Can you believe it’s been two years since covid disrupted the world, including my then US tour?
I parked my tour RV Lil’Chief and jumped on a plane back to Europe to wait out a few months of pandemic, ready to return for my Fall tour in August 2020 … or so I thought. A few months turned into half a year, which turned into a year, a year and a half, and now we’re here, ready to pick up where we left it. But things are far from what they were before the pandemic. Venues and concert series have folded, leaving me with less than a fully stacked tour. And of course Lil’Chief has been sitting idle for 2 years.
2 years is a long time for a 1989 Winnebago warrior. Lots can happen during this time. Valves can rust, tires can get brittle and blow, batteries can get drained and stop working and heck, for all I know, a family of raccoons might have moved in.
We’re hoping that these things have not happened of course, but just to be on the safe side we are flying over early to have time to sort out all the issues that might have arisen after 2 years of not being able to enter the US.
The 2 years have also added a bunch of other crazy costs and inconveniences. Rental cars are now almost $100 a day, which is not great if you need to go to Autozone to get stuff for Lil’Chief. We have to stock up on masks and rapid tests to make sure the guests at our concerts are safe, as well as ourselves. We are facing smaller audiences and risks of having shows canceled last minute. And I did mention the immense loss of concert opportunities right?
In short we’ve been anxiously waiting for 2 years with no real income to be able to get back on the road, and I’d be dammed if we don’t, now that we’ve worked so hard for it. But we need your help to get us going, getting all that tune up stuff so Lil’Chief can safely bring us to you. So we started this go fund me to lessen the burden a little.
If you are in driving distance from one of my concerts it would be worth so much to me if you gathered a few friends and came to a concert. And if you can’t, you can still help the tour with a dollar or two at this fundraiser.
Me, White Trash McGyver and Lil’Chief thank you in advance and can’t wait to see you on the “Back on the Road Tour”.
