Jim's Emergency Fund
Donation protected
Some know me as Savannah Caldwell, but most know me as Jim Caldwell's kid. Recently, illness has fallen in on dad again, and he is in the worst pain he has ever experienced. Dad is no stranger to pain, as he overcame four career-ending injuries as a police officer. Once his body no longer tolerated policing every day, dad continued to serve and protect as a security supervisor where a fight ensued one night and put him down for the count again, causing another injury and surgery. Just over a year after that last surgery, today Dad is fighting a severe infection in his lower back near his last surgery site. The hospital plans to keep him extensively due to the amount of pain he is in and his heart condition.
My dad has never asked anyone for anything and prides himself as someone who always shows up for others. There is hardly a face in Burgin that my dad hasn't met and affected their life in some way, more times good than not.
To date, my dad still has not asked anyone for assistance, which is where I'd like to come in. Dad doesn't know I have created this fundraiser and would probably scold me if he found out. In all reality though, my dad is struggling in health and now over the financial stresses of being in the hospital and being unable to work to make ends meet. Dad is living paycheck to paycheck doordashing as his means of income due to his extensive list of injuries. Being in the hospital makes him unable to work, but unfortunately, bills are still due. Professionals at the hospital are working hard to heal dad but are giving him a possible stay length of six weeks while they try to determine the cause of infection and heal him.
If dad has affected you in some way, please consider doing what you can to ensure he is taken care of during this time of weakness. If you can't give, please spread the word and help me take care of my dad like he has cared for me and others all these years. In freaking out about the bills that are going to go unpaid during his stay, my dad told me that if he can continue to make $400 a week in the six weeks he will be down, he can make ends meet. Although he deserves the world, I have made the fundraiser amount for just that. $400 a week for six weeks to total $2,400.
Thank you for any and all consideration.
