Freya is a wonderful 6-year-old lab mix. She is my service dog, companion, friend, and snuggle bug. She has one of those personalities you pray for when you adopt. I was lucky enough she chose me for her forever human. She has blessed the walls of my job to make people laugh when they were down, she has let children climb all over her, and we have walked miles together for multiple research fundraisers because I work in the medical field. But when I NEED her for service, she is right there to perform her duty.
On Sunday, December 1st, she was very sick. Of course, I brought her to the emergency vet. After one x-ray, the doctor said she needed emergency surgery. Freya had hundreds of stones in her bladder. We will never know how long they were there or how they got there (she eats better food than my 4 kids).
I am asking for help with the over $6000 emergency bill. This could not have come at a worse time, as my fiancé was diagnosed with cancer and is scheduled for surgery on December 18th. We are trying to get married in April, but the bills have to be taken care of first. If you read this far, please say a prayer for all of us. If you are able to help even just a little, I promise I have given when I could and can use a little now, so I hope the universe is listening. Blessings to all this holiday season, be safe and kind to each other. You never know what someone else is going through.
