Hello, Karate world. My name is Linda, and I had the privilege of being Danny's closest confidant for over 33 incredible years. Danny had many amazing friends, but our bond was truly unique. It was the kind of relationship that transcended distance and time, like that of a brother or sister—someone you could trust with your deepest secrets. We laughed, cried, and grew together, always supporting one another in times of need.

I first met Danny, affectionately known as "My Griff," at a tournament where my son was competing. We instantly connected, and over the years, our friendship only deepened. Despite the distance between Montreal and Ottawa, our connection remained unbreakable. I had the honour of bringing him to the Poconos, USA, when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the first time.

Danny respected all of his elders and peers in the karate world. Having been in the circuit for many years, I can attest that despite the political issues that arose, Danny always showed up and never spoke badly about anyone. He loved everyone to the fullest, regardless of the club they belonged to. Danny never saw clubs or rivals; he only saw people.

The world has lost a shining star, Sensei Danny Griffith, whose passing has left an indelible mark on hearts across the globe. Danny embodied the spirit of karate, inspiring countless lives with his charisma, talent, laughter, and unwavering encouragement. He had a vast heart, embracing everyone as if they were his students, friends, or family.

We all know that Danny lived life to the fullest, embracing each day with enthusiasm and inspiring us to do the same. His generosity knew no bounds, extending even to perfect strangers. In a final act of kindness, Danny donated his organs, ensuring that others could live life to the fullest just as he did.

Danny dedicated his life to the martial arts world, travelling the globe multiple times. He worked tirelessly to open clubs, particularly for underprivileged children, giving them a chance at a better future, just as he had dreamed of in his youth. Although these endeavours often posed financial challenges, his spirit remained unbroken.

Danny faced unimaginable sorrow with the loss of his daughter Vanessa in a tragic accident a few years ago. However, his love and legacy live on through his daughter Nakomis, his grandson, his partner Julie, her two children, and the countless lives he touched.

With that said, I am asking for donations to help his family fulfill his wishes and cover the funeral expenses. Danny was the type of person who would give his last dollar to a stranger, often going without himself. His devotion to the martial arts world and his generous spirit deserve our support in fulfilling his final wishes.

These expenses are particularly challenging now, as Danny recently moved to Kitchener to settle down with Julie and her children, even as he longed to return home to Montreal. Nakomis is a single mother, and Julie is now also a single mother of two. Please let us give back to Danny all that he has given to us during his time here.

Rest in peace, Danny. I know Vanessa and Sheriff are so happy to have you back with them while we mourn our loss.
