The School Bus Project!

As most of you know, Siena and I are about to head off on an incredible adventure together. Our first stop is Nepal! We will be volunteering here at a rural school, about a 6 hour drive out of Kathmandu, Maya Universe Academy (www.mayauniverseacademy.org). The families of the students who attend the school cannot afford to pay any fees. In lieu of this, they donate their time to the school in whatever way they can. It's an incredible school and concept, and has created the opportunity for many children to receive an education that they would otherwise not possibly have.

Currently they are fundraising for a school bus to reach children in surrounding villages that cannot attend the school because they are simply too far away. As a mum and an educator, the thought of a child not being able to receive an education because they are too far away from a school is unthinkable.

We are blessed that in regards to our children's education, the hardest decision we will probably have to make is 'what school will I send my child to?', not 'will I be able to send my child to school?'
