We are utilising a Portsmouth University design to produce protective visors, using our laser cutters. They are certified, flat packed, and importantly, can be completely disinfected for re-use. We have the capacity to make 1000 visors every day, and have already begun production and distribution to those in need.
Throughout the pandemic we have donated PPE to GP surgeries, health centers and local NHS hospitals, including NHS Northwick Park, and NHS Royal Brompton Hospitals. We are no also supplying schools as they begin to welcome back students, and this has included some local special schools where staff have close contact with vulnerable students who need personal care. Our campaign therefore, is having a direct and immediate impact, helping those on the front-line.
We need help with buying the raw material; 0.75mm - 1mm thick Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified (PETG) sheet. We have a supplier, but (as a school) we just don't have the money to buy it!
We have contacted Public Health England and The Department for Education, but neither have taken up our offer of support, and so we have been unable to get government funding. If you can help us fund this, we can do the rest.
For every £100 we can provide 38 re-usable visors to protect our key workers. All money raised will go directly to the cost of purchasing the raw material. No money will be used for Labour, overheads or delivery.
With your help, we have the potential to deliver a significant amount of vital PPE to those that need it, and do what we can to help in this national crisis.
Any donation you can afford will be greatly appreciated.
From all of us at Westminster UTC, thank you!
