LayerTech3D is a small 3D printing business. Like everyone else, we want to do anything we can to support the NHS and the most vulnerable in the fight against covid-19. We have put our printers to work creating PPE for anyone that needs it, at no cost to them. We are based in Newport which is the worst affected area in Wales with the highest case and death rates.

We have been inundated with requests of masks and ear protectors from hospitals, care facilities and nursing homes to name a few. This is why we need your help. We currently have 3 printers on production, 2  belonging to the company and 1 that is my Dad's hobby printer, however this isn't enough to keep up with the current demand. We can currently print around 250 of the shield masks a week but we already have requests in excess of 300 for this week alone. 

Thus far we have funded this support effort entirely ourselves including the printing filament, acetate, assembly equipment, electricity and time for assembly and delivery. Our aim is to expand our facilities to increase our production capacity and fund the aquisition of materials from pla to the acetate to complete the masks, the latter of which is becoming difficult to source.
