PPE Masks For Medical Workers: Coronavirus Fund
Medical workers are risking their lives daily, to selflessly help save the lives of the general public. During this scary and unprecedented time, many of them are in desperate need of personal protective equipment. They need help. And we can all do our part, by practicing guidelines of social distancing and donating when capable.
We at MSTR are trying to do all that we can to assist. We're hearing first hand about the conditions healthcare workers are encountering on the front lines fighting the coronavirus. Some of our team’s family members are healthcare workers and are bringing to light the situation where their hospital is not providing them with proper personal protective equipment (PPE), to keep them safe, while they screened potentially infected patients. More of our friends and customers who are doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers from the front line told us similar stories of PPE not being made available to them. Medical professionals have been given guidance to use scarves and bandanas as substitutes. We think this is wild and unacceptable and could have dire consequences to those that are working to keep our communities healthy.

KN95 Masks: (UPDATED)
Through our international business contacts, we were presented with the opportunity to purchase KN95 disposable masks from China. While not the scarce N95 masks approved by the FDA, the CDC has listed the KN95 as one of the devices that “are expected to be suitable alternatives to provide protection during the COVID-19 response when supplies are short.”
Supplies are indeed short.
In an effort to contribute what we can, we placed an order, paying out of our pocket. And so far, in under a week’s time, we have donated over 2,100 KN95 masks to healthcare professionals in New York, New Jersey, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Tennesse and in our home state of California.
But we want to do more. Much more. That’s where you can help too!
How you can help: (UPDATED)
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to increase the number of KN95 masks, surgical masks, gowns, and face shields we can donate to healthcare professionals across the U.S. With $10K, we can donate at least 5,000 masks throughout the country.
100% of all donations will go to purchasing PPE masks and paying for shipping costs.
We have recently teamed up with a nonprofit organization called the LA Urban Leauge and can now provide a tax-deductible donation
If you want to help frontline responders in hospitals and test sites, please consider donating in increments of $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford.
Every $200 allows us to get 100 masks to east coast hospitals.

FDA-Approved Masks:
We are currently working on importing FDA-approved masks to help donate to hospitals and police stations that require FDA certificates to use the PPE gear.
100% Transparency:
We will not profit from this donation drive, all proceeds will go towards procuring masks and shipping costs. Below are estimated costs, but are subject to fluctuate depending on supply.
KN95 Face Mask: $1.90-2.25 each
FDA approved surgical masks: $ .40-.60 each
FDA approved KN95 Face Masks: $2-3 each
Shipping / Logistics $650-1000 per shipment from Asia
(Price has gone up due to shortage of flights in and out of china)
Shipping from CA to the east coast (50-100 masks) $20-30
Transaction fee per donation: .30 +2.9%
