One More Week and Three More Days

My name is Contessa Lowery and I am homeless with my 15 year old daughter. We are currently staying in a hotel and just need help for one more week and a few extra days before I get a full paycheck. Unfortunately, due to a payroll issue my paycheck is going to be short the total amount for another week by two hundred dollars.

I am a substitute teacher and did not receive pay for two weeks due to spring break and will receive pay by the end of next week, but I need to pay the hotel for a week in advance and I only have one more week to come up with the $600.

We were able to get our goal of 400, which is beyond what I could have dreamed, people have brought us groceries and offers of groceries from another amazing stranger. Unfortunately my upcoming paycheck will be short by 200 and I still need to get through this week and then next week's check will be big enough for two weeks and it will balance out.

I have made attempts to get city resources and I have not been able to secure food and shelter for several months. There is a homeless shelter for women I'm trying to get into, but there is a wait.

If you can help us get through one more week and a few more, I would be sincerely grateful.
