Hi,
My name is Juliana Gomez. I am 21 years old and I have a heart to serve the Lord. In 2016 I went on my first missions trip to an all-boys orphanage in Bolivia. With an eagerness to serve and travel across the world God was preparing me for the plans He had for me; Plans that will change the course of my life forever. On one of the days of the trip, my team and I got the privilege of visiting a local family’s house. We brought them a gift basket filled with food and other necessities. In Bolivia, they speak Spanish and in our team, I was one of the very few that spoke fluent Spanish. My Pastor came up to me that day and asked me if I could host my group at this beautiful woman's house. With sweat racing down my forehead I said yes. At 16 I had no idea what I was doing or how I could tell anyone about Jesus. Well at the end of the day I didn’t have to, the Holy Spirit did it for me. My team and I walked up to this clay house with no flooring or any type of stable furniture. The Mother of the house greeted us and made us feel at home. The first thing that came to my mind was if she could tell us her story. We spent some time listening to her, while she whipped the tears rolled down her cheeks as she explained to us her situation. Our team cared for her as much as possible. When she was done telling us her story I stopped and looked at her. I asked her “is it okay if I give you a hug?” she replies with a yes. I got up from my chair and I wrapped my arms around her. In this very moment God spoke into my ear and said “this is what you will do for the rest of your life.” and this became true.
Years past I went on many more one-week missions trips. Each trip God gave me a new heart for the calling He has placed in my life. In 2018, I lived in that same orphanage for two and a half months as a Children's Evangelist Intern. The following year in 2019, I went on a missions trip to Southeast Asia. I lived in Cambodia for one month and in Thailand for two months. My team and I taught the kids at the orphanage English and the Bible. This trip grew my love for education and teaching young children the love Jesus has for them. That same year I was sent to Honduras to become a Children's Evangelist Intern at another orphanage. Needless to say, my heart's desire is to serve the Lord and his people faithfully.
After I returned to the States God guided me to pursue education at Southeastern University at Christ Fellowship with a degree in Global Education. I am in the last year of my degree and I believe that God is leading me to begin my teaching practice internationally. I have this amazing opportunity to teach in Mexico at an orphanage called Give New Life. I am raising funds for my students, my travels, and living arrangements. I will be living at the orphanage and attending my classes on my off days. I will also be going on different outreaches to the surrounding schools in my region to distribute school supplies and educational teachings.
Thank you for partnering with me on this journey. I believe God is going to move in such a powerful way in this next season. If you feel led to donate or want to donate in a different way you can contact me at [email redacted]. Please keep my team and I in your prayers. We love you all!
Blessings,
Juliana Gomez
