Powerlifting Masters World Championships
Donation protected
Hi, I am Kim Ellis, a 49-year-old powerlifting athlete from Belgium. I began powerlifting in 2019, and I am the current M2, -57 Belgian powerlifting champion, European Silver Medalist, with a Gold Medal in Bench Press, and I hold 8 Belgian powerlifting records.
I’m fundraising to attend the Masters World Powerlifting Championships in Sun City, South Africa this October. I am thrilled to have been selected as the Masters 2 Belgian representative for this year’s World Championships, and have been training in preparation for the World Championships since April, and despite a few small injuries along the way, I feel better prepared for this competition than ever before.
Normally I fund all international competitions myself, however I have just started my own business, and this year has proven to be more financially challenging than previous years. It is very difficult for me to ever ask for help or funding, but without some funding, I simply will not be able to attend this year. So, I want to already say that I appreciate every single donation more than I can possibly express.
Before donating, I do want to let people know that while I expect to greatly improve on all of my lifts and my overall total (and in so doing also increase all my current Belgian records!), I have a low chance of an overall podium finish. The level of competition in my category has dramatically increased this year, and when I say I will be competing against some of the strongest women in the world, these will be some of the strongest women to compete in this class in quite some time. I will be honored to compete alongside of these powerful women and display the results of my hard work on the world stage.
The money will go towards funding the flight, hotel, transportation and entry fees of my trip. If, there is any money left over from the donations I receive, it will be donated towards Youth Sports in my local area to help build the athletes of future generations.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you, more than I can possibly say, for any help you can offer.
