Anyone who knows Ty Hardy knows he’s one of the good ones. He’s the mate who helps when you need him, never makes a big deal of any thing, and somehow manages to be both incredibly talented and completely humble at the same time. Whether it’s electrics, plumbing, bikes, or just making cool things out of nothing — Ty’s creativity and skill level is unreal.
Three months ago, Ty had a serious accident while getting back into riding trails on his bike. One bad fall changed everything. He ended up with:
• A tibial plateau fracture
• A tibial spiral fracture
• A broken fibula
• And the tibial plateau break was so severe it nearly severed his main artery
It wasn’t just painful — it was dangerous. He needed metalwork, plates, screws, and a long recovery ahead of him. Physically and mentally, it’s been rough.
And with Ty being Ty - proud, private, and not one to shout about what he’s going through - he’s spent the last three months trying to deal with it quietly, without asking for help. But he hasn’t been able to work since the accident, and the pressure is building.
After a lot of persuasion, he’s finally agreed to let us set this up - not because he wants charity, but because right now he genuinely needs support to keep going and recover properly.
What we’re raising money for?
• A smaller, specialist knee brace that won’t aggravate the screws and plate
• A compression ice/heat system to help with swelling, pain and rehab
• Essential living costs while he’s unable to work
• Additional recovery equipment, physio or medical appointments
Why this matters
Ty isn’t the loud, attention-seeking type. He deals with a lot quietly — including his mental health — and still shows up for the people around him whenever he can.
This time, he needs us to show up for him.
Any donation, big or small, will genuinely help relieve the pressure and give him space to heal properly.
And if you can’t donate, sharing the page is just as valuable.
Let’s help get Ty back on his feet, back doing the things he loves, and back to being the rad, creative bloke we all know.
Thank you for supporting him.
