Powering through Angie's bucket list
Our beautiful Angie was diagnosed with ALK-positive lung cancer back in October 2019. She has been an absolute trooper and has been kicking some serious ass. Things were looking great after trying Alectinib targeted therapy and in May 2020 doctors found no evidence of disease in Angie which was spectacular news.
Unfortunately, in November 2020 it was found that the medication had stopped working and the cancer had begun to spread again. This time the doctors put her on Loratinib and we all hoped for the best.
Yesterday, Angie shared the news that Loratinib didn't do the job. Treatment wise, Angie has very quickly run out of options and the only available one to her is now Immunotherapy and Chemotherapy which she will start this Friday.
Angie is the greatest mother, loving wife, adored daughter, sister and aunty and treasured friend to so many of us. She has a few things that she would really love to do before the Chemo kicks in with any nasty side effects. We need to come together and make some dreams come true for this amazing little family as soon as possible.
I will continue to pester her for more things to add to the bucket list but for now this is what we are working with:
- Angie wants to snorkel the wrecks at Tangalooma - let's do one better and send the family over there for a couple of nights together!
- A little break for just Angie and James together
- A relaxing and memorable family holiday up at the Sunshine Coast
Anything extra will go straight to Angie, James and the kids so that they can focus less on James having to work and more on enjoying the time they have together as a family.
Please share this link far and wide as we power through Angie's bucket list.
