Power Up The Future: Help Mr. Flake Keep Teaching Coding

My name is Mr. Flake, and I'm the passionate Cyber Foundations teacher at Corinth Middle School! For the past two years, I've had the incredible privilege of introducing 6th and 7th graders to the exciting world of technology.

Why Technology Education Matters

In today's rapidly evolving world, a strong foundation in technology is crucial for success. From artificial intelligence to advanced coding, these skills are no longer a luxury - they're a necessity. I believe every student deserves the opportunity to explore this dynamic field and unleash their inner tech wizards!

My Journey to Teaching

However, my path to the classroom wasn't traditional. In December 2021, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in the Teach Mississippi Institute's alternate path to teaching program. This program allowed me to quickly transition into a rewarding new career, and I haven't looked back since!

Investing in the Future

Since joining Corinth Middle School, I've continuously strived to expand my own tech knowledge to better serve my students. This January, I embarked on the second component of the TMI program, a crucial step towards securing a 5-year teaching license. This will allow me to continue inspiring future generations of tech leaders in our community.

The Challenge:

Unfortunately, due to recent expenses, including purchasing a home closer to Corinth, I'm facing difficulty completing the remaining balance for this vital program.
