This is unbelievably embarrassing that my life has even gotten to this point. As most of you know, my husband of 22 years walked out on me in November while I was on vacation with no warning whatsoever, to be with his new girlfriend that he was apparently having an affair with.

The mortgage and all utilities are still in his name, and he said in court that he would continue to pay these, and it was my understanding he would do so up until May 1 of this year. Today, my power was turned off. I had no warning whatsoever. I called the power company to report the power outage and found out that he has not been making payments since he left, and that the bill is now $921. They will not turn the power on in my name until this balance gets paid off.

So, I’m literally sitting here in candlelight, making my first ever GoFundMe, which I never in a million years imagined I would have to do. I cannot take showers, I cannot keep my food in the refrigerator so the food will spoil, my fish tank has no power, so the fish are not getting the oxygen bubbles or the heater that they need to survive, and I cannot run my cake business because I have no power to run the oven, mixers, or refrigerator to do this.

I never thought I would have to ask for help, but if you could please, please, please open your heart and help me during this horrible time, it would be appreciated more than you will ever know. I’m asking for money to help pay off that power bill so that I can get my power turned back on. This is terribly embarrassing. I don’t know how I will ever live this down.
