Hello, my name is Brendon and I am raising money to help out my niece Kayla Donahue and her family.
Kayla has been in and out of the hospital continuously since 2016. Eventually the doctors had to send her to the Cleveland Clinic because her conditions are rare and couldn't be treated properly here in Dayton. My sister has to drive to and from Cleveland several times a month, sometimes staying for weeks at a time. Between the cost of traveling back and forth, hotels/air bnb, and food, staying has became to much for her and her family to manage. Before Covid she did have help staying in the Ronald McDonald House but they haven't been allowing new people in for the safety of the patients. My sister has other children that she has to care for and a husband that has to get to and from work via uber or friends because they only have one vehicle. Coming up this month she has to spend 3 weeks in Cincinnati, then 2 weeks in Columbus, and then go back to Cleveland for another 2 weeks, which was the main reason I wanted to start this go fund me now. Those few months will be extremely rough not only due to finances, but they may not be able to see each other during the coming holidays.
Here is a rundown of what Kayla is going thru:
It took several years for them to diagnose her properly. Kayla suffers from POTS and Dysautonomia, which include a list of other illnesses under it such as Lupus, Bechets disease and as of recently EDS syndrome. These illnesses causes many problems including seizures, fainting randomly, having GI problems which recently made her have to get a G tube. The tube runs in her nose, down her throat, and to her stomach. This stays in 24/7, and is used to feeds her a nutrient rich formula. Sadly she is unable to keep food or fluids down on her own. She has been wearing it for months now. During Covid she has to be on lock down due to being very high risk. Kayla's life has been a rollercoaster, and the least I can do is try to raise some money so my sister and brother-in-law aren't struggling nonstop.
Any amount of donation, or even just a share is so very much appreciated! Thank you so much for reading and supporting!
