my name is Lindsey Meehleis… I am the midwife for a wonderful family who has recently been forced to move out of their home and are now homeless. They have been unable to find housing and are currently moving around local Southern California campgrounds. Sadly one can’t have a homebirth without a home, but also being homeless in Southern California with a quickly approaching due date and the thought of not having a place to recover is daunting.

If there’s one thing I know that is strong within the midwifery world… it’s the strong sense of community that is created to help each other.

I would love to provide this family with no stress to carry them through the first few weeks postpartum with at the bare minimum a roof over their head and food on the table.
