TL:DR (Too Long, Didn't Read): Post-Orthodoxy Season 2 is COMING SOON (aliens and sex therapy and The Great Reset, oh my!), and since KBMF 102.5 FM censored us and kicked us out of the station early September, we are building our own livestream studio, so that we can have more diverse conversations more often, with guests from all over the world, and you guys, and look and sound better while we do it! We Are Building An Outpost In The Borderlands
Post-Orthodoxy is an ongoing conversation between two former cult members and the various folx we meet on the journey. As it seems no one in mainstream news is having these kinds of talks, we've come up with our own job titles: Dark Sevier, Memetic Mediator, and Ainsley Sevier, Psychic Doula. We break down dogmas, stereotypes, and strongly-held belief systems, asking any questions we're not supposed to ask, in our quest for cognitive liberty. As people who are doing the hard work to become sovereign over our own minds, we can easily recognize cult-like behavior, and seek to alleviate suffering for anyone who joins our conversations, by opening doors and sharing information and resources we've encountered. You could call us "metanews," "edutainment," "interactive journalism," etc- but whatever you call us, don't call us stuck in a rut.
This is not a show for everyone! Like it says in our sexy video above, if you divide the people you meet into teams, if facing new perspectives is frustrating or threatening, if you think there's only one right way to live, you're probably not going to like the way we think on Post-Orthodoxy.
However, if you find new information exciting, if you can see the spectrum beyond black/white/yes/no/right/wrong, if you've been rejected by loved ones for changing your minds, have we got a show for you! We want to be having a better time, with more people, more often, and that means we are constantly evolving and expanding our minds, getting to know the borderlands between and beyond belief systems. What's outside your reality bubble? You could know . . .
The Nitty Gritty Kit
We've been doing preliminary research into the basic set up an interactive live podcast such as Post-Orthodoxy could thrive on while our community grows. We are hoping to travel and do interviews around the country, connecting local citizens with local citizens, and helping us all get to know our neighbors a little better. I will share more info soon about the equipment specifics, but for now we need to buy:
- 3 microphones
- 3 microphone stands
- 3 microphone cords
- an audio interface to mix the speakers live
- a camera to livestream video
- a capture card to get all that data into our computer live
- a new (used) mac for processing our podcast live (dream wish!)
- a light or two so that we're pleasant to look at online ;)
- power strips
- protective foam cases for travelling journalism
- mobile streaming gear (for doing live, interactive interviews, anywhere!)
Things we are already paying for as part of our commitment to building this outpost for people who are doing the hard work of leaving dogmas behind:
- $19 a month to stream to FB, Twitch, YouTube, Instagram, to enable conversation with our listeners
- $2700 to build a web platform where people can subscribe to support the show and receive extra perks ($5 a month for unique stickers, blog articles, extra livestream conversations, Outpost-only chat groups, and other exclusive content)
Anything you donate to the cause will be well- and sensibly-used, and your donation will qualify you for Outpost in the Borderlands membership access once the website launches this fall.
