Unexpected post-op complications

Hi, I'm Larissa, Jackie's youngest sister, and I'm reaching out for help for financial help from the community that she has nonstopped, wholeheartedly, has helped for years.

A little about my amazing sister:
She's a mom of 3 of her own and has custody of our 2 very young nieces, so that makes 5 children in her care. She works a full time job, and operates a fully functioning, fast paced, nonstop, non-profit organization, The Broken Antler Wildlife Rescue, with her fiancé Joe Rocco. Who around the clock care for just under 100 animals. I always joke with her as being Super Woman. With all on her plate, she is always helping others and putting them before herself.

Her story:
Some of you may already know, especially those closest to her, that on Wednesday, August 2nd of 2023, she underwent a 6+ hour surgery. The surgery went great, but due to the pain, she stayed in the hospital for better pain management and observation, and thank goodness they made that choice! On Friday 08/04/2023, she and the family all expected she was going to be going home, but instead, her body had other unfortunate and scary plans.

Early that Friday morning, the nurses found her lifeless, and unresponsive that prompted a crash team of over 20 people to flood her hospital room to save her life, and that they did! Thank you to all the amazing people who worked on her to keep her on earth and here with her family.

Once the crash team got her responsive, they realized her body was completely paralyzed, so they immediately rushed her into CT scans in fear of a stroke and ran every blood test imaginably known. Thankfully she didn't have a stroke, but instead she went into kidney failure and was septic. Between the lengthy surgery, and the infections that took over, it put her body into a full blown crash mode, that completely just took over her body, leaving her paralyzed, very sick, and landed her in the ICU.

With the outcome unknown and the long hard road she faces ahead of her, I'm reaching out on here. I'm asking for her friends, family, and the community to come together to help my beautiful, big hearted sister with the many financial burdens she is going to be facing. Being a mom with 5 children, and just under 100 animals in her care, the unforseen medical expenses, and no current income, she is going to be drowning in debt.

I thank you all for any help you can provide.

Please feel free to share any memories or stories you may have with my sister. I'm sure she will enjoy them when she is better!

I will continue to update her progress along her journey.

Much love!
