I'm writing to invite you to offer any available support for my loved one, Joha's, Dad and sister who recently immigrated here from Venezuela in August.  They were displaced from their home due to a fire in their building this past week (mid November). Luckily everyone is okay physically, but they will need to find a new place to live.  Additionally, Joha's Dad is not able to work right now due to a debilitating shoulder injury.  

 

In the short term, we are looking for no cost (pet-care/house-sitting/work trades) or low-cost places for them to stay while they try to find longer term housing.

We are also raising money for them to be able to put down a security deposit, initial rent, etc. for when they find a more permanent home, and replacing items/clothing that were damaged in the fire. 

 

Our goal is to raise $10,000 which we believe will cover the bulk of what may be needed to sustain basic needs during this difficult time.

We are looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment/guest house/in law unit/anything for $1600 or under, as soon as possible! Shorter term options would be helpful, as well. For example if you are able to host for 1-2 months, but not long term, that would be very helpful to know as we piece options together! Any leads would be very appreciated. We are open to being creative, too. My dad is a house painter and can also do carpentry. My sister has childcare experience. So work leads or working for no or low cost rent would be great, as well!
