Post Production Funding for KALAKAR Short Film

Hello! My name is Lovey Brar and I'm a filmmaker based in Canada. I'm currently in production for my directorial debut short film titled 'KALAKAR'. KALAKAR is an art horror meets Bollywood drama piece of work. It's a social commentary on the tortured artist trope but it's completely drenched in Indian aesthetics. Growing up in Calgary NE to a Punjabi family, Bollywood has had a massive effect on my artistry and my identity. I'd like to honor my culture by simply creating a film of my favorite genre (art horror) and introducing it to who I am as a person (my ethnic background). We're filming July 22nd & July 23rd, by the grace of the universe we have enough funding to cover the production phase however, we need some help with post-production and marketing funding. I'm planning to bring on an Indian artist who will develop an original track for the film using traditional Indian instruments. We would also like to submit this short film to as many festivals as possible internationally. Growing up I wish I'd seen a movie like this, I wish I'd seen a Punjabi woman write and direct something in Canada. I'd like to do this for my people, and for the little girls at home who feel like their dreams aren't possible. This has been my dream and with your help it's coming true <3
