Our Legion has raised thousands of dollars to put back in the community and support those who needed help in times of trouble and hardship. We have always prided ourselves in the fact that what we raised went back into the community or veterans group. We will continue with these projects in both manpower and funding. However, now we need to establish a Capital Campaign to help meet our need for a Home of our own. Once built this would allow us the ability to accommodate the 239 Legionaires along with our Legion Riders, Sons of the American Legion and Auxiliary
The American Legion Post 193, located in Chapin S.C. is working very hard to establish a Building Fund Campaign in order to have a perminant residence in the Town of Chapin. As a Veteran's Organization, we serve all Veterans causes such as Homes for our Troops who provides housing for those veterans with major disabilities.
We also support the Missing in America project which locates those Veterans that have no one claiming thier remains. We insure they recieve a proper burial at our National Cemetary Fort Jackson.
Other organizations that we are involved in are Honor Flight which flies our WWII and Korean War Veterans to Washington DC to honor them and their legacy with a visit to the monuments of both wars.
Also, we escort unload and place wreaths at all grave sites at our National Cemetary at Fort Jackson with Wreaths accross America.
Remembering those of the greatest generation with a Quilt of Valor is one of our highlights
We also, serve our community in Chapin by supporting and sponsoring, We Care, Boys & Girls State, JROTC, American Legion Baseball, ( World Series Champions in 2015 )
and many other causes.
Help to support us to help to support you.
WE CAN BUILD IT
