Please keep Riley in your thoughts and prayers!

on sunday afternoon Riley had trouble coughing up a boogie. We tried to have her cough it up and she just couldn't get it . We went to the bathroom to stream the room to help her break it up while Jessica went to set up her nebulizer. During that time Riley stopped breathing and turned blue. We took her to the livingroom and began cpr. The sheriffs showed up first, they took over doing cpr. Soon the ambulances showed up with the emts and took over once more. They called in the saint Vincent help flight to have her taken to the hospital. At the emergency room she had been stabilized with breathing from a ventilator and regained a strong pulse, enough to move her to the pediatric icu and placed in critical condition. The doctors told us that she had cpr for 45 minutes until she arrived in to the emergency department. She was then in treatment for a severe brain injury. we are at the 96th hour since the event. From the 12 to 48 hour the brain would have swollen to the peak. We are unclear of to what extent the injury is at this time. She has shown us that she can breath over the ventilator rate. Yesterday she had started to open her eye lids. I held her hand kissing it last night for a few minutes and looked up at her face and her eye lids were fully open. Today she is being more responsive so the lights are being kept off and the room is being silenced. The doctors have advised limited visitation so she can heal. We aren't trying to keep people away at this time but quiet and calm is the best thing for her right now. If anyone would like to visit please Nick or Jessica know.
