My name is Eve McCann and I wish to raise funds for the charity Positive Life Kenya, to support a specific project at the New Hope Tumaini School in Nairobi, Kenya. I am travelling to volunteer in the school for the months of June and July this year. Any donation, no matter the size, will be profoundly appreciated. I am covering all of my own costs and all of the funds donated will go straight to the project. My main goal is to help them build a food hall within the school grounds so that children can receive proper nutritional meals that their families are not able to provide at home. Positive Life Kenya was established in 2010, and this non-governmental organisation is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by fostering active community participation through education and advocacy, with a focus on creating a healthy environment for children to thrive and effect lasting change. Although Tumaini has made huge strides since its inception, challenges still persist. Its 100+ pupil population is growing rapidly. Many of these pupils face daily nutritional challenges and rely heavily on the meals provided at school due to the financial constraints their families endure. They need our support to ensure that their dreams are not overshadowed by the lack of basic amenities.
