Volunteer, extraordinary dog mom, life-long learner, and encourager to many, Lisa Tong REALLY needs your help. While towing her camper home to Arizona, the truck caught fire and spread to the trailer. She lost EVERYTHING … except her purse, her dog's lives, and a sandwich sitting next to her. She just had time to get it off the road and jump to safety.
A vibrant part of the nomad community, Lisa is known for volunteering, entertaining, and helping others. Until the computer went up in smoke, she was teaching herself how to publish books on Amazon. She's a great positive influence to everyone she meets, often testing new recipes to share with everyone.
But she's lost all her earthly possessions, her lifestyle, and her home (including the famous inflatable pink unicorn costume) Although insured, it is very uncertain when and how much compensation will be coming. In the meantime, she needs EVERYTHING (clothes, food, transportation, money for continued dog care, shelter).
Her nomad friends and family are trying to help, but we are on limited incomes also.
Amazingly, (3 days post-fire) Lisa is already envisioning and planning a future in a much downsized rig (a pre-owned Toyota Sienna minivan). Although she and her 2 dogs are advancing in age (she's late 70s), she still has much to give our community. And she's always willing!
Her dogs, Mimi and Maka, have special needs including diet, medication, and vet visits. (Fortunately they traveled safely crated in the truck cab) She is building from ground zero.
Any help people offer, I can assure you will be used wisely. She is VERY frugal! If there are any resources left when she gets back in an adequate and stable living situation, rest assured Lisa will pay it forward. It's just who she is!
Thank you all for the $$ help, well wishes, and prayers to help Lisa rebuild her life from scratch.
If you prefer to help Lisa Tong through Venmo or Zelle please contact her directly through Facebook Messenger.
Lisa, we love you gal!
