Posey's Life-Saving Surgery: We Need Your Help
Donation protected
My daughter has a dog named Posey. Posey is THE dog, the special dog- they understand each other, they intuitively sense the others’ emotions. Posey is the one that has been there through the highs and lows and has given love and cuddles. She was there for my granddaughter and daughter during her divorce and all of the painful losses that come with it. Posey has been my emotional support dog too- I swear she has extrasensory powers and just knows when someone needs her “hugs”.
When my daughter noticed some swelling in Posey’s joint, she thought she may have developed arthritis or maybe her tendonitis in that limb had gotten worse. We were all devastated when the vet said she has a cancerous tumor in her bone. From the moth eaten appearance of her bony joint in the x-ray, it could be one of two types: synovial sarcoma or histiocytic sarcoma. After more blood tests and X-rays, the vet referred Posey to an oncologist. The oncologist did an ultrasound and biopsied the tumor, but could not get a decent enough sample for diagnosis. They concluded that there doesn’t appear to be any other cancer in Posey’s body, which makes her an excellent candidate for treatment.
With either one of these cancers, amputation is part of treatment. It is also the way to definitively diagnose the cancer. The cost of amputation with the surgery consult is $7,775. Posey may also need chemotherapy.
Please help my daughter with these bills if you can. Every dollar helps. Posey is a happy, playful girl and we would like to give her the best rest of her life we can. We want to take her to her favorite places: the beach, the apple orchards, and the pet store, where she smells everything on each aisle. As long as she is happy and not in pain, we want to give her life- the best dog’s life we can. ❤️
