Portlandia Mermaid Parade Walking Tour Fundraiser
Shello Portland! For five years the Portlandia Mermaid Parade has organized and brought to you a free and magical event for all! The Portlandia Mermaid Parade continues to be a shellabration of body positivity, diversity and all things related to water and ocean magic. Due to the pandemic we are hosting an alternative event this year to help ensure safety, but we need your help!
This year we have partnered with the Unipiper and Weird Portland United to bring you a truly unique and magical event! Instead of a parade, we are hosting a walking tour installation which will have interactive mermaid spaces, performances, educational booths, and art installations. We would like to keep this event FREE to all. The event takes place on Saturday July 31st 2021. The Part of Your World walking tour will be outdoors, socially distant, and family friendly. Event hours will be from 11am to 5pm, and you are invited to come dressed up and visit at your leisure.
We are wanting to keep this event free and accessible to all. However, it is expensive to host events, particularly within Portland proper! The truth is, it is becoming increasingly difficult for grassroots based events to happen in Portland. Please help us keep Portland weird and magical! We are hosting this fundraiser in the hopes of recouping some of the cost. We realize that many are struggling at this time, and any donation is greatly appreciated.
