Our beloved Portia had a stroke on Wednesday, June 4. Her speech and ability to communicate clearly is what is most impacted, along with some right side dexterity loss. She has a long road ahead of her but she is a tenacious lady and has already said that she "will do it!" We are putting together a plan to support Portia's recovery, including making sure her financial obligations are covered over the next few months. It seems unlikely that she will return to work for at least a month, but likely longer. She also has a high deductible health plan and we are anticipating at minimum 10K, but likely more depending on her out of pocket max. Because she is self employed, she will not have a way to make income until she has recovered enough to return to work. Anything you donate will go 100% to Portia's bills and to keeping her home and obligations covered until she is able to do so herself.

We set up a Give In Kind page where we will be posting updates and listing other opportunities to help- groceries, meals, and likely time with Portia over the next months as she is working on post-stroke recovery, The next 3 months are the most critical and she needs us all more than ever.
