Portia Is a 9 year old little girl from Upstate NY. I first met Portia and her family about 4 years ago. Instantly, Portia stole my heart. She has a smile that brightens up a room! She loves everyone with her whole heart. Portia has one more very important quality that has served her well, her incredible sass that helps her fight every single day.
She was born with Down Syndrome and she has been fighting Leukemia for about 5 years now. In September 2023, Portia relapsed for the second time. This time, chemotherapy treatments are not enough and she requires a CaR-T cell transplant.
On Wednesday 12/13/23, Portia, her mother Jessica, and her father Javier will travel to NYC Presbyterian Children’s Hospital for the transplant. They will spend at least 2 months there.
During this time the family will be separated. Portia will spend Christmas in the hospital. Her older siblings will be home trying to keep their home and normal routines going.
Jessica has not been able to work since Portia relapsed the first time in September 2022. Javier has been the sole provider for the family since that time. He will need to take a significant pay cut to be with Portia during this critical time in her fight against Leukemia.
The family has sacrificed so much to keep the family together during this time and now it’s time for our community to come together to help them.
This fund will help the Robles family to pay household bills, such as:
Medical bills
Mortgage
Utilities bills
Food for the family at home
Food for Portia’s parents while they are away

Christmas dinner for the family at home
Gifts for all the children
Any incidental expenses that they acquire as part of Portia’s treatment
