Porterfield's Year-End Gift
Donation protected
Hey all!
Kurtis and I would like to put together an end-of-the-year gift for the Porterfields as a thank you for everything they do for us, and all the lives they impact through the gym.
As many of you know, Garth had “the worst 40th birthday ever” this year. He and Melissa had planned a trip to Mexico with family and friends to celebrate, but when they got to the airport, they were informed that Savannah’s passport card wasn’t valid for flight, only for land and sea. Garth stayed back an extra day to try to make it work, but it wasn’t in the cards. Savannah had to come home, and Garth took off for Mexico the following day.
When asked by his mother why he wanted to have such an extravagant getaway for his birthday, he told her that he wanted his daughter to be able to experience things that he didn’t get to when he was her age. Her absence was especially difficult for this reason.
The Porterfields have decided to take a small family vacation this summer to make up for the one Savannah missed in October. We would like to raise $800 to put toward an airline or hotel voucher for their upcoming family travels (we’re told it will either be Hawaii or Mexico). Please don’t mention anything about this to them, we want it to be a surprise! Anything you can give is helpful, and will mean a lot.
Thanks everyone! Let Kurtis or I know if you have any questions!
