Hi guys, as many of you know my husband Zach has been diagnosed with a PVT(Portal Vein Thrombosis) that is also extending into his mesenteric veins and what is left of his splenic veins. These veins are major veins involving his liver. He was also found to have Factor 5 Leiden which is a clotting disorder where he has too many platelets. We will be getting our son,Asher tested as this is a genetic disorder and it may have been passed onto our son. Since 3/30/2022 he has been in Presby Dallas. He came home for one night but I unfortunately had to call 911 while at work and have him taken back to Presby as he developed chest pain and shortness of breath. He was found to have worsening in the clots despite being given injections of a blood thinner called Lovenox, and being sent home on an oral blood thinner called Eliquis. I’m asking for y'all's help as currently I am the only income while he is in the hospital. As much as I wish I could take leave and be with him daily at the hospital I am unable as financially I would be unable to pay the bills. We really don’t know how long he will be in the hospital for. If the clots continue to get worse and start to kill his bowels he would require surgery. Currently he is on continuous heparin(a blood thinner) IV infusion. If his bowels remain okay but the clots don’t dissipate or stay where they are currently and his pain cannot get under control they would most likely surgically evacuate the clots. As of right now his platelets continue to be over a million. The standard range is 140-400 thousand. Zach has had his spleen removed years ago as a results of his autoimmune hemolytic anemia and is expected to have elevated platelets but not over a million. He misses our son dearly, and is not allowed visitors after 7pm so he is often alone and in pain. He wants nothing more than to get better and get home. I’m asking for your prayers and help in making sure my family is taken care of. I can do a lot of things but I can’t make financial issues go away with a snap of my fingers and right now that is a big stressor. I just want my husband better, I want him home and back to his daily life and to not be in pain. This is in fact a very serious issue and could put him in organ failure if he does not respond to the treatments. Please keep my husband in your prayers. Thank you.
