Hello my name is Angela Grogan I am reaching out to request your support in funding my legal bills as I fight against serious and false allegations made against me, by a Ward 2 councillor from the Municipality of Port Hope. This councillor has allegedly filed police reports claiming, I threatened her life and property and that I called her a crook in public office for personal gain; because I publicly asked a question seeking accountability in March 2021 about a $99 900.00 property tax rebate that was given to one property without allege transparency. A claim I categorically deny of threatening or making false allegations about her character. Her lies have spiral out of control. I am subjected to online bullying and derogatory comments. Many people believed her but I ask her to handover the emails she allegedly sent to Port Hope Police. With our high property taxes she should be willing to mitigate the legal fees our tax dollars are paying Municipal lawyers to defend her.

Other Ward 2 community members at March 18, 2025 Council Meeting documented on YouTube.com sought answers to high property tax bills with the support of the same councillor. No police was dispatched to their homes or they weren’t threaten with arrest.

These allegation might be directed to me but is a matter of public interest. Their demands were considered a democratic right. My similar demand met the threshold of criminal behaviour.

As a pensioner on a fixed income, I am finding it increasingly difficult to bear the financial burden of this lawsuit. Meanwhile, the councillor's legal fees are covered by taxpayer dollars, while I must pay for my defence and she continues with impunity.

It is crucial for me to continue this legal battle not just for myself, but to ensure that no one else suffers such an injustice in the future. I have documentation to support my case and have exhausted all personal civil approaches, including requesting a public apology, which were dismissed. I had no other option but to file a civil lawsuit.

I am now seeking a pending police criminal investigation.
