We continue moving forward with the rehabilitation of Ivanna, a beautiful girl who is truly a champion.
Her diagnosis is: Infantile Cerebral Palsy, Severe Hypotonic Quadriparesis, Moebius Syndrome, Strabismus, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (with CPAP use at night), and Tonsillar Hypertrophy. She is 9 years old, and fortunately, we have achieved great progress in her rehabilitation and stability in her overall health.
Our goal is to offer Ivanna a better quality of life and help her learn to be as independent as possible—although we still have a long road ahead.
Until recently, all of Ivanna’s medical treatment and rehabilitation had been through Teletón and some private specialists. A few weeks ago, she finally received IMSS coverage, where we were welcomed with excellent care, first by her family doctor and then by Pediatrics. The doctor kindly referred her to evaluations with all the specialties she is treated for at Teletón.
And that is where our little “odyssey” begins jajajajajaja—more appointments, more trips, and usually it’s just the two of us. We use ride-share services, but it has become very difficult because Ivanna’s current wheelchair is bulky, comes apart into two pieces, and doesn’t fit easily in most trunks, and very few cars have racks. (I often end up hiring private drivers.)
As I mentioned, it truly becomes an odyssey because assembling and disassembling the chair takes time, during which Ivanna—who is very active now—moves from the seat to the floor of the car, and I must stay alert to prevent her from getting hurt. This whole process becomes complicated and exhausting.
Having the stroller Ivanna needs would help her posture and spinal alignment, and it would make our transportation so much easier since it folds and unfolds in one piece, is lightweight, and fits perfectly in a car trunk.
Previously, we organized events to purchase her Rifton walker and Trak stroller, but we were only able to sell about 30% of the tickets. We also held food sales and received some cash donations, which together allowed us to buy only her Rifton walker. Thank God—THANK YOU!!

Hola mi nombre es Norma,
soy la abuelita de Ivanna y estoy en busca de ayuda de almas generosas para ayudar a mi nieta con la rehabilitación de mi hermosa niña que es toda una campeona.
Su diagnóstico es: Parálisis Cerebral Infantil, Cuadriparesia Hipotónica Severa, Síndrome de Moebius, Estrabismo, Apnea Obstructiva del Sueño (con uso de CPAP por la noche) e Hipertrofia Amigdalar. Tiene 9 añitos y afortunadamente hemos logrado grandes avances en su rehabilitación y una estabilidad en su salud integral.
Nuestro objetivo es ofrecerle a Ivanna, una mejor calidad de vida y que aprenda a valerse por ella misma y aun nos hace falta un gran camino por recorrer.
Les cuento que hasta hace poco el tratamiento medico y la rehabilitación de Ivanna habían sido solo en Teletón y algunos especialistas particulares, hace una semanas que Ivanna cuenta con el IMSS en donde la recibieron con una excelente atención primeramente por su medico familiar y después por Pediatría, quien la Dra. tuvo a bien, enviarla a valoración por todas las especialidades que esta siendo tratada en Teletón. Y es ahí en donde comienza nuestra odisea jajajajajaja hay màs citas, màs salidas y por lo regular solo vamos las dos y lo hacemos en autos de plataforma, en los que resulta difícil nos den el servicio con la silla que actualmente usa Ivanna, es un poco bromosa, se desarma en dos piezas y no caben en la cajuela y casi ninguno trae parrilla para que sea mas accesible (termino por contratar a particulares) Como ya lo dije es una verdadera odisea porque el armar y desarmar la silla, lleva tiempo, en el cual Ivanna que ya esta muy activa, se baja del asiento del auto al piso del mismo y siempre es estar pendiente de ella para que no sufra un accidente. y se vuelve complicada y entretenida esta mecánica de armado y desarmado.
La verdad que tener la carriola que Ivanna requiere, favorecería su posicionamiento y lineamiento de columna, al igual que nos facilitaría enormemente sus traslados ya que se dobla y desdobla en una sola pieza, es liviana y cabe perfecto en la cajuela.
Anteriormente realizamos rifas para adquirir SU ANDADOR RIFTON Y SU CARRIOLA TRAK, estas, sin mucho éxito (solo se vendieron un 30% aprox. de los números), hicimos venta de comida, recibimos donaciones en efectivo, que todo junto nos acerco para adquirir solamente su andador RIFTON, Bendito Dios, GRACIAS!!
