My dad, Jim Weathers, known to most as Pops had his first stroke in late May of this year. His major complications was memory loss. He had gained most of his memory back and seemed to be on the right track.
Last Thursday, Pops had a total knee replacement on his right knee. Everything seemed to go very well. He was up doing PT on Thursday. On Friday morning when my mom arrived to the hospital she knew he had had another stroke in his sleep. This was later confirmed with an MRI. He was dismissed from the hospital Saturday morning and has been making strides in his physical therapy.
Late this afternoon, I received a hysterical phone call from my son that “Pops had another stroke and was drooling. They were waiting for the ambulance.”
He was brought to NEA Baptist, however they felt it was in his best interest to be airlifted to Baptist in Memphis.
We are unsure how long he will be in the hospital and all the costs associated with the helicopter and other unknown costs.
Any help to assist my mom and dad during this time would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to contribute financially please keep my family in your prayers.
