On Wednesday March 18th Poppy was rushed to the vet due to sudden, forceful, and relentless vomiting. After a long day and night of monitoring the veterinarians repeated imaging and confirmed that she has an intestinal obstruction that has damaged part of her bowel.

The only treatment is emergency surgery to remove the affected section of intestine, and an incision in her stomach to release the obstruction.

This has all happened very quickly and the cost of surgery is far beyond what we were prepared for. We have already put a large amount on our credit cards to get her the care she needs, but a bowel resection surgery is significantly more expensive than we expected and we are unable to manage the full cost on our own.

 Poppy is the naughtiest, stinkiest little beagle with a big personality. She’s curious, smart, stubborn, and constantly sniffing for treasures. Her personality is what makes her so loveable, but it’s also how we ended up here. We love her a truly unbearable amount, and we are doing everything we can to give her the best possible recovery.
