Hi. My name's Poppy Donaldson. I'm raising money for my friend Amanda Lees so that she can have the robot legs she needs to walk. They cost a whopping £60k.
Since writing this, Amanda has had a traumatic fall and is now fighting for her life in hospital. But she is an incredible fighter and a role model to me. So I'm going to carry on in hope.
On Sunday 20th September we set off. I'm meant to be doing work experience week at school, but I couldn't find a placement so my dad suggested we ride an iconic Scottish route to help Amanda instead.
I'm not really big into bikes. But somehow I will be riding over 300km with over 4,000m of climbing, off road. And camping. Our route is called The Faultline because it weaves along the Highland Fault between the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands starting in Helensburgh on the west coast and (hopefully) finishing at Stonehaven on the east coast.
Please keep Amanda in your thoughts and prayers and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
