Our dear friend, Mike Popp, has recently been diagnosed with Cancer. His wife, Tory, has posted this about his condition:
2/20/19:
We met with Mikes Oncologist today, the Germ Cell Tumor he has is in a Yolk Sack and is very rare. They don’t stage this type of tumor. He will be starting Chemo on Monday, probably will be inpatient, 5 days in a row, every 21 days, for 4 cycles to shrink it. Then he will have to go to see a Dr. in New York to have the rest removed. He is having his port placed today so he will be ready to start on Monday.
Update: Mike did have a Pet Scan and they found a very small spot in his lung, but the doctor is not concerned at this time.
Update: Reason for going to New York:
Dr. said this type of tumor is very tricky to remove and there is a doctor in New York that’s specializes in this type of surgery.
We would like to help the Popp family while Mike is out of work and also assist with any medical and travel expenses they may incur. Any amount in donations will help!
