Poorly Marrakech kittens
Donation protected
I was in marrakech recently and I came across these four little hairy sausages who are quite poorly.
Cats in Morocco are generally well cared for, they’re considered community cats. These kittens are about three weeks old and, along with their mother, were being looked after by locals who made sure they had food, water, and eye drops. So at first, I didn’t want to interfere. But on my last day, it became clear they had gotten seriously ill, and I couldn’t just walk away and leave them there to die.
They're now with a vet who has said they have Coryza virus and around a 40% chance of survival. Three of the four need one of their eyes removed due to significant infection. The vet doesn't think they will survive the surgery at the moment. They've been cleaned up, given medicine and will be reassessed in 2-3 days.
Once they've been treated and are well enough, there's a charity that can take them.
I have paid for their initial treatment. Hopefully they'll improve, be fit for the surgery, and survive.
For all four to be treated, it will cost approximately 7600 Dirham, c.£600.00. I have clearly bitten off more than I can chew.
So here's the bit where I'm on the scrounge.
If you’d like to contribute to their treatment, any amount—big or small—would be deeply appreciated.
Any residual funds will be donated to a related charity.
*Update*
Sadly one of the kittens died on 14-05-2025. He was just too weak and could no longer eat by himself. The remaining three are doing well generally and I'm waiting for an update from the vet to see if they're now well enough for the surgery.
