Dolcie-Mae

Donation protected
Dolcie-Mae who was just four weeks old when she was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocystosis (HLH). HLH is an immune deficiency disorder which occurs when certain types of white blood cells, known as histiocytes and lymphocytes, become overactive and attack the body.
The condition can be life-threatening if left untreated or not diagnosed promptly and requires a stem cell transplant to cure.

Shortly after her diagnosis Dolcie-Mae was airlifted from her home in Newport, South Wales to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where she is now receiving specialist treatment. There is no current world-wide matching donor for her at the minute so the doctors and nurses are all keeping dolcie-mae stable, and isolated while awaiting her transplant.

This means that Dolcie-Maes mummy is away from home, and unable to return until transplant has taken place and dolcie-mae has recovered. Unfortunately with no matching donor this could be months or years for both them. We as a public can help relieve a little bit of burden from her during their stay in Newcastle, we are here for them, they’re not alone.

“I came home from hospital two weeks after having Dolcie-Mae – her big sister, Dollie-rae, loved her at first sight and would not put her down – she wanted to help with all her bottles and feeds! But she hasn’t seen her since we had to take Dolcie-Mae to Newcastle RVI for treatment in December; meaning we had to spend Christmas apart, we are all really missing each other. We Facetime every day, but it’s not enough.”

We are asking to public if they can help in a few different ways. If you’re unable to donate to the go fund me , then could you share as much as you can to get dolcies appeal around.
