Poonchkie needs your help......

Hi, everyone. As many of you know, Laura & I are the proud parents of Poonchkie, our fur-baby born out of wedlock (please don't judge). In our pictures of her over the years, you might have noticed a pink pigmentation on her left lip right under her nose. It's been there since we got her 3 years ago but has noticeably spread & enlarged starting last year. As a precaution we had a biopsy done and discovered it is a mast cell tumor - which is cancerous. Although, they can be common in pets, it's in a very sensitive area which makes it more aggressive where it will eventually spread to her organs, taking her away from us was too soon. That will definitely devastate us more than anyone can know. So if you're a dog lover/owner, you definitely know the feeling.

So after a few consultations with our vet and oncologists, we've determined that the best course of action is a combination of radiation treatment + chemo pills, which she has just started taking. Unfortunately we were told that with just those pills alone, she would only be here another 6-12 months. Also, because her tumor is in a sensitive spot, surgery is not an option because it would leave her disfigured with a poor quality of life and not even be guaranteed to be 100% cancer-free. However, combining radiation treatments with those pills would give her the best possible chance of a cure or remission. BUT the costs are going to be too much for us to take on at the moment. It has already cost us into the thousands, and that's not even 1/4 of what it's going to take to get her back on track. Aside from the radiation treatments (at a facility almost 2 hours away), she will also have to go through a number of lab tests, blood work, etc. Plus, those pills would most likely be a lifelong commitment costing hundreds each month.

By now you've probably guessed that we're seeing if anyone can help us out with those costs. We've been back & forth about doing this because we're usually too proud to ask for help, but we have to think of our precious girl, Poonchkie, first & foremost. We would do anything for her no matter what it is. She is all we have and don't want to see her leave us like this, let alone suffer through anything. So if anyone can help, we would be forever grateful and more. If you can help, that's great, but if you can't, that's not a problem at all.
