On July 8th I had a spontaneous fracture of my right patella. The Fracture caused me to fall and hit my head and left eye on the wall and also break 3 toes on my right leg. I have osteogenesis imperfecta have had over 100 fractures and 15 surgeries and I did not walk until I was 15 years old. I have
never let my OI stop me achieving my goals In life. My doctor wants me to be able to wear my knee immobilizer in the pool and start working out in the pool every day. The issue Is I cannot walk in and out of the pool using the steps they are just too steep so I need a pool lift to get in and out of the pool. Also my wheelchair needs to be replaced, the brakes no longer lock and the chair is so old the replacement parts are no longer made. Insurance will not cover a new wheelchair for me they would rent one for a few weeks but I use the wheelchair whenever we go anywhere that requires distance walking ( stores, parks, movie theaters , amusement parks . However my type of OI should not need a wheelchair on a regular basis per the insurance so we will need to buy a new one. I am having to take off from work without pay for I did not have enough pto to cover my time off. I do not like asking for help but last few years medical bills have just hit us hard any money raised would make a huge difference. Thank you for taking the time to read . We thank you for any assistance you can provide. Jim, Marlene,
