Richie “Pookey” Frye has been diagnosed with aggressive metastatic cancer, and at just 30 years old.
To know Pookey is to love him. He is one of 6 siblings and an uncle to 9 nieces and nephews. Before illness, Pookey thrived in his career in forestry. He has spent time professionally as both a logger and a wild land firefighter. He was a star athlete in high school, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. Pookey is a friend of everyone he meets, and he’s a favorite member of our community. You can always look forward to having a great time with him at the Roundup in Bieber.
Even with health insurance, cancer costs don’t stop at doctor’s offices. Pookey will be traveling weekly up to 6 hours one way for his treatment, and these will require overnight stays. He will incur out-of-pocket costs not covered by insurance, such as expensive prescriptions, surgeries, potential chemo/radiation, and travel expenses. He will be in for years of follow up visits and check ups. Health insurance will help, but he will be left with an immense amount of cost to cover on his own. He has already been unable to work for months due to his tumors.
As organizer of this campaign, I can promise your donations will go directly to Pookey to assist him in his medical expenses. Anything you can give helps and is greatly appreciated. If you can’t give at this time, please consider sharing this campaign to spread the word.
Thank you so much for your generosity toward our friend Pookey during his time of need.
