Ponzu’s medical bills

Hi, my name is Nikki & I’m fundraising for my dogs Ponzu’s medical bills. On Saturday night Ponzu started getting bleeding sores around his muzzle area & by Sunday morning they had spread more & moved to his stomach as well. I took him to a new vet on Sunday (my usual vet was closed) & they thought it was an allergic reaction so they treated him accordingly. When I took him home from the vet he looked even worse & we were so confused & heartbroken. The next day the lesions were spreading more & getting worse so I decided to take him to my usual vet. Initially the doctor had no idea what was going on but he was very concerned because of how rapidly the skin infection was spreading. I dropped him off so the vet could research & try to figure out what he thought was going on with Ponzu. When I picked Ponzu up the doctor brought me in the room & told me he thinks it is an autoimmune disease or possible cancer. I brought Ponzu in for a biopsy on Tuesday & had to leave him all day while he was sedated, but thankfully it was a pain free day for him. His blood work came back great but we just have to wait for his biopsy results which could take a week. Ponzu has started 80 mg of Prednisone to help his immune system calm down & hopefully clear up his skin issues. Ponzu’s total vet bills so far is $1500, & we still dont know what’s wrong with him. I don’t expect to raise all of the money but anything helps. I have been documenting Ponzu’s progress on Instagram & have been receiving the sweetest most supportive messages. I’m so thankful to everyone who cares about Ponzu & has been sending their thoughts & love. Anything you can share will help tremendously.
