Our Story

Hi, we are Ponteland United Women – Northumberland’s top-performing women’s team, proudly competing at Tier 5 in the FA Women’s National League.

We’re more than just a football team. We’re a family — united by loyalty, shared dreams, and a deep love for the game. Many of our players have grown up together since the under-10s, facing challenges side by side, celebrating victories, and pushing through setbacks as one. From grassroots beginnings, we’ve climbed to the national stage through passion, grit, and relentless hard work.

After the incredible high of back-to-back promotions and finishing 3rd in our first season at this level, we’ve shown that we belong. But with that success comes growing pressure — and growing costs.

Why We Need Your Help

Unlike many of the teams we now compete against — who have major financial backing, paid players, and top-tier facilities — we rely entirely on community support and self-funding. Our players, coaches, and volunteers give everything, but we can’t do it alone.

Your donations will directly help us cover essential costs, including:

Travel to away games across the North (Bradford, Hull, and beyond)

Training facilities and pitch hire

Matchday essentials like referee fees, medical supplies, and equipment

Kit and teamwear, including travel bags, training tops, jackets, and warm-up gear

Support for players who may otherwise struggle to afford the cost of playing

Coaching development to keep standards high as we grow
