Pontefract Hospital Chemotherapy Unit

Hello everyone!

So, we wanted to share Fiona's story with you. It all started on June 2024 when we got the devastating news that Fiona had breast cancer. It was a real shock, and we had no idea what we were fully in store for over the following 12 months or more.

Fiona's been incredibly brave, going through months of chemotherapy. There were times when she had to stay in the hospital for prolonged periods, and it was tough for everyone. She faced it all with such strength and determination. We're so grateful for the amazing team at the chemotherapy unit at Pontefract Hospital. They took such wonderful care of her when she had her treatment.

One thing that was really important to Fiona was keeping her hair. She tried cold cap therapy, which was initially challenging but made such a difference to confidence! Now, she's determined to give back and help others. She wants to raise enough money to buy another cold cap machine for the hospital, so two more people can use it at the same time.

As her husband, and on behalf of our whole family, I can't tell you how incredibly proud we are of Fiona. She's strong, courageous, and most importantly, healthy thanks to the amazing care she received at the Chemo Unit and of course other areas of the NHS.

We love her so much and we'd really appreciate any help you can give to support Fiona's goal of getting a new cold cap machine for the hospital. Every little bit counts, and it's going towards a cause that touches so many lives. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
