Sinoć smo se dopisivali,pa si rekao da ti nešto napišem o sebi.

Ja sam DRAGAN ČAVIĆ.

Rodjen sam 05.09.1978 godine. Trenutno zivim u Srbiji, opština Šid.

Na odsluženje vojnog roka sam otišao 21.06.1998god u Kraljevo,gde sam prekomandovan 15.09 na Kosovo i Metohiju,tačnije u Uroševac. Februara meseca 1999 godine sam ,teško povredjen na terenu,gde mi je presečena tetiva i vene na levoj ruci,posle operacionog zahvata u vojnoj bolnici u Nišu,doktori donose odluku ,zbog težine povrede da me oslobode ,daljnjeg služenja vojnog roka,što sam ja odbio,jer nisam mogao da idem svojoj kući a moji drugovi i moja večna braća po oružju da spavaju u rovu i brane moju državu i zemlju. Ja sam se dobrovoljno javio nazad u svoju jedinicu 14.03.1999 a već 16.03 sam tražio da idem na borbenu liniju ,kod svojih drugova i svoje braće ,gde sam i otišao. Tog 24.03.1999 god,počinje napad od strane NATO agresora na našu državu i na naš narod. Ja sam u vojsci bio obučen za vozača motornih vozila,gde sam tad vozio sanitetsko vozilo TAM-110. Tog kobnog 01.04 ,kada sam se vraćao iz Prizrena,gde sam odvezao,ranjene policajce u povratku negde oko 16:30h sam u selu Semetište kod Suve Reke,naišao svojim kamionom na protiv tenkovsku minu,gde je kamion od jačine detonacije skroz uništen a ja teško ranjen. Prva pomoć mi je ukazana u bolnici Prizren a već ujutru rano sam prebačen helihopterom u vojnu bolnicu Niš ,da mi se pokuša život spasti. U Nišu na oporavku ostajem sve do 28.04 gde sam onda prebačen u Beograd na vojnu medicinsku akademiju,gde moje lečenje i rehabilitacija traju 11 meseci na vma. Usled detonacije ptm, ja sam ostao bez desne nadkolenice i oštećenja leve noge od 40%, gde mi je na levom stopalu odstranjena spoljašnja strana stopala,od četvrtog prsta i komplet peta do zgloba. Na levoj nozi mi je radjeno 6 hiruških operacija,da bi mi barem uspeli da sačuvaju jednu nogu. Zadnja šesta operacija, se odvija na dan SV. VASILIJA OSTROŠKOG i zahvaljujući SV.VASILIJI OSTROŠKOM,DRAGOM BOGU I TIMU VRHUNSKIH HIRURGA NA VMA,meni je noga spašena, a trebali su i nju da amputiraju posle pete operacije. Ja sam otišao sa ponosom,da branim svoju zemlju i svoju državu i za to sam dao i zakletvu,otišao sam zdrav i prav a vratio sam se kao invalid sa 100% invalidnosti ,prve grupe. Hvala opet dragom Bogu,vratio sam se živ,ima drugara koji se nisu zivi vratili,svojoj majci i svom ocu. Ima drugara koji su i dan danas ostali na SVETOM KOSOVU,gde im se ne zna ni grobno mesto,ali mi koji smo preživeli,dok god smo mi živi,ŽIVEĆE I ONI SNAMA U NAŠIM SRCIMA. I was born on September 5, 1978. I currently live in Serbia, Šid municipality.

On June 21, 1998, I went to Kraljevo to complete my military service, where I was reassigned on September 15 to Kosovo and Metohija, more precisely to Uroševac. In February 1999, I was seriously injured on the field, where the tendon and veins on my left hand were cut. After surgery in the military hospital in Niš, the doctors made a decision, due to the severity of the injury, to release me from further military service, which I refused, because I could not go home and my comrades and my eternal brothers in arms sleep in the trenches and defend my state and country. I volunteered to return to my unit on March 14, 1999, and already on March 16, I asked to go to the battle line, to be with my comrades and my brothers. On March 24, 1999, the attack by NATO on our country and our people began. I was trained as a motor vehicle driver in the army, where I drove a TAM-110 ambulance. On that fateful 01/04, when I was returning from Prizren, where I had driven wounded policemen, on the way back, around 4:30 p.m., in the village of Semetište near Suva Reka, I ran into an anti-tank mine with my truck. The truck was completely destroyed due to the force of the detonation and I was seriously wounded. First aid was given to me in the Prizren hospital, and early in the morning I was transferred by helicopter to the military hospital in Nis, to try to save my life. I stayed in Niš for recovery until April 28, when I was transferred to Belgrade where my treatment and rehabilitation lasted 11 months at the Medical Academy. As a result of the ptm detonation, I was left without the right upper knee and the left leg was damaged by 40%, where the outer side of my left foot was removed, from the fourth toe and the whole heel to the joint. Six surgeries were performed on my left leg, so that they could at least save one of my legs. The last, sixth operation, takes place on Saint's Day. VASILIJA OSTROŠKO and thanks to SAINT VASILIJA OSTROŠKO, DEAR GOD AND THE TEAM OF TOP SURGEONS AT VMA, my leg was saved, and they had to amputate it after the fifth operation. I went with pride, to defend my country and my state and for that I took an oath, I left healthy and strong and I returned as a disabled person with 100% disability, first group. Thank God again, I came back alive, there are comrades who did not return alive, to their mother and father. There are comrades who still remain in HOLY KOSOVO, where their graves are not even known, but we who survived, as long as we are alive, THEY WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS. ETERNAL GLORY TO THEM AND ETERNAL THANKS TO THEM.
